A Family Portrait

This style is quiet interesting for this short it worked really well.  The way they use the style to enhance the awkward moment when get your family photo taken. They also use the style to push the story in an aesthetically pleasing way. The way the father is meant to or is cheating on his wife, by pulling out his tie instead of having they are just lingerie but using the style to help the change of him thinking it would be a tie and it being the lingerie of what the wife was thinking makes the story work well with the style.

  1. I really like this style too, it's a great way to abstract feelings and emotions of characters with metaphors and symbolic imagery. I think it is a very clever film in that the story takes place in one location and one moment in time but it suggests years of conflict and story between each family member.

  2. I didn't find this film aesthetically pleasing at all. I haven't seen any rotoscoped animation that I like. I guess it's just the way it's kind of wobbly and flickering.
This isn't my kind of story either. It escalates but does not resolve at the end. It's just a continuation of the escalation.
It must be too abstract for me!
